Rachael Lindgren, Miss Hoosier Heartland's Outstanding Teen Competes for Miss Indiana's Outstanding

Rachael Lindgren, a junior at Eastern High School will compete for Miss Indiana's Outstanding Teen on June 22, at 7pm. This competition will involve interview, sportswear, on-stage questions, talent and evening gown. For Rachael's talent she will be performing a pointe/tap routine to 'In the Mood". [Choreographed by Kari Meissnest, Kokomo] Rachael has trained in dance for 13 years and has studied in New York with a lot of noted teachers. Also, has performed for the Ballet Internationale's Nutcracker two years and for Gregory Hancock's Modern Nutcracker. She has won many awards and scholarships and has represented Howard County as the Senior Dance Champion 2005. Furthermore, Rachael has choreographed a variety of dances for the Eastern Encore Singers show choir. She has been a member for two years and has received the Outstanding Freshman and Sophomore Choral Award. Her vocal coach is Ms. Susan Brooks, Kokomo.

The Miss Hoosier Heartland Outstanding Teen pageant was opened to all teen girls' ages 13-17 in the state of Indiana and Rachael won her title on July 23, 2006 in Kokomo. Considering that then Rachael has been representing teen across the state of Indiana. She has spent the past year producing over 20 appearances and working on her platform, PLUS: Positively...Living Under Pressure. This is a program that she designed and is supported by the non-profit organization HeartMath, Inc. It delivers a positive approach for teens to deal with the day-to-day stresses that life offers them and helps them understand the impact of anxiety on their bodies. Her function with her platform has involved get in touch with with Dr. Sue Ellen Reed, Governor Mitch Daniels and Senator Jeff Drozda.

Rachael is an honor student at Eastern and will be receiving her academic E award. She is the proud recipient of the Stan Nicholson Award for outstanding character and leadership. She has served as President of her freshman class and Secretary of Student Council where she has been a member for 5 years and will serve as Junior Class President. Locally, Rachael serves on the Mayors Youth Advisory Council.

A 3-sport varsity member, Rachael enjoys soccer, swimming and tennis. She credits her coaches with inspiration and teaching her the dedication and perseverance necessary to succeed.

Rachael has had experience with pageants each locally and nationally. She has won the title of Miss Kokomo Preteen and also was 1st Runner-up at National American Miss Indiana and completed in the best 10 at Nationals for NAM in 2005.
